30 Days of Thanks: Day 1 & 2

While it shouldn't take a special time of year to give thanks for our wonderful life, this time of year always does make me extra aware of just how blessed we truly are. So for the 30 days of November I think it would be nice to count out one blessing each day. Life really does have it's ups and downs, but the joy of the ride makes every day worth it for me. Because I'm a day late getting started...we'll just have to count two blessings today!

Day 1: We are thankful for a place to call 'home'. Not just our house, but the incredible place that we live. We live in a country that not only allows us to be ourselves and choose our own paths in life...but it encourages us to do so. We live in a state that is absolutely gorgeous, and provides the wide open spaces we need to do what we love. We live in the town that we were raised, and realize as adults that it is one amazing place to now raise our family. We live in a valley that we get to call our 'own' that lets our spread our wings as individuals but plant our roots as a family. We live in a house that provides us with all the necessities as well as some incredible comforts. We realize that no matter where you live, you make it a home...but we feel so blessed that it's so easy where we live! Today we give thanks for our 'home'.

Day 2: We are thankful for each other. To outsiders we may sometimes seem to have a strange relationship, but elements of each of us truly were made to fit together. Luke is my best friend, and I am his. We enjoy working together on the ranch, and we enjoy playing together when we aren't working. We push each other to be our best, and we love each other in spite of our imperfections. We have embarked on many journeys in our 9 years together, some that may take a lifetime to complete...but our most recent is by far our most challenging and most rewarding...parenthood. Today we give thanks for each other.
